  1. I agree with the author that God didn’t curse the earth as much as the curse was the consequence of the fall. But I also I believe that knowledge of good and evil was necessary and part of God’s plan (there was no Plan B) all along, to help us grow up and not stay children forever, to learn that we have the free will to make choices but that our choices have repercussions, to be able to appreciate good by its juxtaposition with evil, to be able to really understand what love is by experiencing its absence, or its counterfeit. Ignorance may be bliss, but it’s not really living. It’s a form of bondage, not freedom. The truth shall set you free, so lack of knowledge can’t be freedom.
