When I Die

When I die

I would want

my

Jewish friends

to say

a Kaddish

my

Catholic friends

to have a Mass

and light

a candle

my

Mormon friends

to Baptize me

my

Hindu friends

to have a

Meditation

my

Buddhist friends

to light

some incense

my

Atheist and Agnostic friends

to hoist a

pint

My

Muslim friends

to get out their

prayer rugs

When I die

I Pray that

I have this

diversity

of friends who

loved me.

“Sometimes I Miss”

Sometimes I miss

the faith of my youth

before I was taught it was

all for naught.

Sometimes I miss

the Midnight Mass

and all its colorful pomp

and circumstance.

Sometimes I miss

the reverent

and quiet serenity.

Sometimes I miss

all that rich history

a few thousand years

provides.

Sometimes I miss

the Holy Men of quiet character

and faithful service.

Sometimes I Miss

it all and long for

the Cathedral of my

youth.
