Would we all be in a better place as divine human beings if we didn’t need a Devil or a Hell to compete with a God of Love?
Would the one true God of Love and Light be terribly upset if we kicked the whole idea to the failed trash bin of recorded history?
If Hell and the Devil fell in the woods and nobody cared would it make anymore noise? For if God is a still small voice Hell and the Devil must only be breathed into existence by us.
After all these are just usurper ideas of an ancient age, something that helped explain unpredictability as if the beauty of the night or a great storm needed a mascot. You don’t need to explain the space between the breath, it’s all God and it’s only ever been all God.
So what about the holy books and the ideas of ancient men and their world & the universe, well have you ever considered he could have been wrong?
But then if we get rid of the Devil and Hell isn’t God and Heaven next Pastor?
No just the idea that God needs a nemesis at all, but rather just willing divine humans ready to step out of bronze age thinking and into a divinely ordained future.
In sales there is an old saying, “that a NO is just a request for more information.” I am amazed how many time people say NO to God and that God doesn’t leave the conversation but digs in more in order to close the sale. The reason for this in my mind is quite simple, more explanation is required between the finite and the infinite. We are full of misunderstanding, doubt not to mention our own agendas and understanding of God. Imagine how Patient God must be in order that He might explain His ideas and plans to finite humans. God I am quite sure expects a NO, anyone in an evolving relationship should not be surprised by a NO.
So God is talking to Moses its a big scene burning bush, holy ground. thunder, lighting and the ground shaking. Moses is respectful but dubious at the same time, the more God talks the less Moses is buying. Moses says NO I think you have the wrong guy, this is what a person with a shattered self-image would say. God it appears expects a little more cooperation from Moses and begins to show a little frustration with Moses.
Relationships that last the test of time are all about negotiation not dictation, oh the infinite patience of God. You have to stick with what you started, and God is “all in” concerning the destiny of Mankind. Moses gets extras from God a Name never uttered before, a front man to do the talking and a magic stick. You see it pays to say NO to God if you want to get the pot sweetened a little bit.
What ever you do though don’t be like Jonah, who said NO and ran from the conversation, remember one can’t outrun the “Hound of Heaven.” If however you stay in the game, God not a bad partner to have in this journey called life.
It has been said God is outside of Time and has a Master plan before space, matter and therefore time began. This is called His Sovereign Will which is moderated by His good pleasure, no questions asked no help requested. You can see here that your creation and personal being is unnecessary, necessarily. God merely unfolds the plan like a rug and we all are mere dust in the carpet fibers. Time for all intents and purposes is the duration between God’s perfect conception and completion, according to God’s immutable and unchangeable plan.
So why does this God bother is the first thing that comes to my mind, and second why should I worship this God? Do I look like some dark age dork who thinks the earth is flat, and God is only interested in being the Sovereign because they said so. This view is imposed on the God of the Universe and not reflected in the actual narrative of scripture.
God’s Word manifests a universe and then commits to the Moment, and in observation calls it good and full of potential. There is no reason that an All Powerful, All Knowing, Ever Present God has to fix the future, like some insecure god of the Greeks. The Moment is the best place for God to effect a Future in concert with earths children, not because of a have to but choose to. There is no need for all possibilities to be reduced to mere illusion and nothing more. There is no need to cement a nonexistent end with zero input from those made in God’s image.
God’s Infinite intelligence and a heart of love, in place of a tin god’s divine pleasure, reveals a deeper process. Where angels failed before man shall succeed in concert with a God embracing all possibilities, fearing no free choice or strange trail taken. Mixing all the colors together like a Master Painter with an open vision, that includes those new colors freshly co-manifested. In fact expressively excited and passionate about the endless horizon, and willing to be patient for the weaker vessels to grow into the gods of Creations God.
Once committed in love to the creation and it’s pearls of great price, now is the only reality an Infinite God, need dwell in. To see the Open Plan unfolding according to His Interactive Will, Worlds without End amen.
